Auf dem Nachhauseweg wird die angehende Krankenschwester Sam in einem Viertel in Süd-London mitten auf einer einsamen Straße von einer Gang maskierter Jugendlicher umstellt. Gewalt liegt in der Luft - und explodiert doch ganz anders als erwartet: Ein Meteorit schlägt direkt neben den Kids in einem Auto ein. Während Sam fliehen kann, wird die völlig überraschte Gang von einem blutrünstigen Alien attackiert. Mit vereinten Kräften können die Kids zurückschlagen und den außerirdischen Angreifer zur Strecke bringen. Doch zum Triumphieren bleibt keine Zeit, denn ein regelrechter Meteoritenhagel über London kündigt an, dass die Invasion jetzt erst richtig beginnt ...
